Mickelsen Family Trip Part 3 - White Sands

I know it looks like snow but it is actually the largest white sand dune in the world located outside of Alamogordo, New Mexico. We new it wasn't snow because of the extreme heat! Everyone liked sledding down the hill.

Aleeya didn't mind holding the lizard.
I know it doesn't look like her, but this is Sareya covered in sand.

Jessica holds the record for longest run!

Mickelsen Family Trip Part 2 - around the condos

We wanted to get together now that Hal & Patty are home from their mission. We found a place in Ruidoso, New Mexico that could house all of us. We spent time swimming, golfing, playing on the swingset, eating great food, playing games, having a tea party, and enjoying each others company.

Mickelsen Family Trip Part 1 - Mesa Verde

Mesa Verde is just outside of Cortez Colorado. On our way to New Mexico we stopped in Cortez to visit with our friends Brittney and Jason. It was so good to see them. (sorry no picture) The next morning we headed over to the cliff dwellings of Mesa Verde. It was cool to see how these people lived and created cities in the cliffs. It is amazing that these structures are still standing after all this time.

$2 Tuesdays at Thanksgiving Point Part 1

Dino Museum!
Thanksgiving Point offers any activity for $2 on Tuesdays in August. We decided to go to the Dinosaur Museum with several other neighbors. The kids loved it and I loved the price!

Davidson Reunion

In August we had our first annual Jim & Taffy Davidson family reunion. It was fun to have almost all of us together. My mom just had surgery so we set her up with pillows and blankets so she could watch the activities. We had a great lunch and played tug o war, gunny-sack races, three legged races and ultimate Frisbee. I can't wait for next year!

These were my favorite 3 legged pair!
We miss you Kylee!
